VISIT TO THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT - Monday 18th April 2016
The Group enjoyed a very successful coach trip to the Houses of Parliament on Monday, 18 April 2016, at the invitation of our local MP, Suella Fernandes. She has a keen interest in art and thought we might appreciate the architecture and the art displayed in the Palace of Westminster. We did the be the standard tour with a guide. Wednesday 31st May - Porchester Castle, from 11.00am. Meet in the courtyard near the western entrance and the castle keep. Parking at the castle. Porchester train station and shopping precinct approx 1 mile north. X4 bus stops at Porchester shopping precinct.
Thursday 29th June, from 6pm - evening sketching at Warsash Quay, or the Rising Sun.
During 2016, we sketched at Titchfield Abbey, Warsash Quay and Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum.
Any Group member can organise an outing, be it a coach trip or a more informal / free / turn up on the day trip car sharing. As well as sketching days, there are various galleries and museums in the area within an hour's reach of Warsash, including Southampton City Art Gallery and the SeaCity Museum, Portsmouth Museum, Pallant House and the Oxmarket Centre for Arts, both in Chichester.
